The Future of Your Parks, Trails
and Facilities
Future park and recreation facility needs of the city are being
met today through planning and design for anticipated needs as well
as updating current facilities. One example is the Trails Grant
awarded to the Parks and Recreation Division by the Texas Parks
and Wildlife Department. These grant funds will allow the City to
add an additional seven miles of "soft trail" to our existing
trail system. Currently the City has 1.69 miles of "soft trail"
and 5.74 miles of "hard trail" throughout our City Parks.
This additional trail will bring our trail system total to 12.74
miles allowing citizens to enjoy its use by walking, jogging, biking
and horseback riding.
